FAIRplus sets out to improve data sharing and reuse in life science research
The FAIRplus project has kicked-off to improve data management and data governance in European health research. The project aims to increase the discovery, accessibility and reusability of data from selected projects funded by the EU’s Innovative Medicine Initiative (IMI), and internal data from pharmaceutical industry partners.

MMPC Funding Opportunity: MICROMouse Program
The MMPC (National Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center) MICROMouse Program is a competitive grants program awarding up to $75,000 (total costs) for one year to fund research projects that have the potential to enhance and advance the mission of the MMPC as a resource for scientists using mice to study diabetes and obesity. There is no formal deadline associated with MICROMouse applications, but applications will be reviewed quarterly (March 1, June 1, September 1, December 1) and therefore should be submitted accordingly.

The Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort (CRIC, http://www.cristudy.org) Study is a longitudinal cohort study of patients with chronic kidney disease. CRIC Study Opportunity Pool Program are accepting applications to fund innovative studies to develop, evaluate, or implement novel analyses, including novel and integrative analytic methods, using existing CRIC Study participant data, led by investigators in any scientific or clinical discipline including, but not limited to public health researchers, biostatisticians, informatics scientists, etc. Letter of Intent Due Date: Jan. 31, 2019

Diabetologia and Diabetes journals announced new author instructions that require authors to report critical characteristics and unique identifiers (RRIDs) when publishing papers using human islets.
